Kit Bess is both a state licensed and nationally certified health care practitioner from Santa Monica. She studied East Asian Medicine locally at the renowned Emperor’s College, earning a 4-year master’s degree with Summa Cum Laude honors in 2020. Prior to this, Kit has been immersed in the study of Qigong, a standing form of meditation and energy medicine that was the start of ancient Chinese Medicine. Kit is also a ceramic artist, and has been practicing the clay arts since 1997.
Kit practices Traditional East Asian Medicine in the spirit with which it has been utilized for thousands of years, which includes a multitude of modalities and diagnostic tools like acupuncture, pulsing, cupping, and herbal medicine. Kit also continuously researches modern techniques for the new environmental, social, and chemical challenges of today’s world.
Kit’s particular acupuncture style is chiefly derived from Japanese Meridian Style with its well researched and clinically effective methodology that is deeply rooted in acupuncture’s most ancient Chinese texts. This is a very gentle style of acupuncture, utilizing high quality Japanese-made single-use filiform (hair-thin) needles. Needles are never required if you are needle shy, there are many alternative treatments to acupuncture at KBHA.
